Welcome to Brae Lochaber Heritage
Welcome to Brae Lochaber Heritage
Dualchas Bràigh Loch Abair/Brae Lochaber Heritage consists of a group of volunteers capturing the rich history, culture and folklore of our area to share with new and old locals, the descendants of our great diaspora, more recent exiles, visitors and researchers.
We are creating a repository for the folklore, history and culture of Brae Lochaber, recording what we know and can find of the people, places, the customs and beliefs, the stories and legends - from earliest times to the recent past.
By sharing what we gather through our website, talks and publications we aim to inform, intrigue and grow a deeper appreciation for this beautiful part of world.
Our website will be a record of famous warriors, bards, chiefs and clerics as well as the lives of the courageous and resilient ordinary people whose memory is forever intertwined with the mountains, glens and rivers.
