Mid Glen Roy

Guided Walk taking in places of historical interest between Brae Roy and the Briagach fang

First walk of the season. A good opportunity to see the ruins before the bracken and grasses take over. Walk mainly on tarmac road.  Start at Iain Lom’s pine tree with detour over the River Roy foot bridge to the Rianach fording a stream on the way to the ruined township and the Bishop’s well. Back on the main road take in the  ruins of the old coaching Inn at  Larach Taigh  Seinnse. See the famous Clachan Togalaich or lifting stones and other areas of interest before reaching  the Briagach to explore the ruined  township including the Clach Bhleith or Sharpening stone with its link to Montrose’s army.

2.5 -3 hrs duration  approx 3-4 miles distance

Meet opposite Roy Bridge Hall and share cars 1.30 pm
