From Mrs Ryan of Blaracha
“This well known prophetic saying was communicated long ago by a good old man on his way through Inverroy uttered by an ethereal being. Time attests to its veracity.
An Lochabar a tha thu
Ach traghaidh e mar an gaineamh.
Thig linn eile nan àite.
Basachaidh linn nam mollachd”
“You are of Lochaber
But it will ebb away like the sand.
Another people will come in their place.
The accursed people will wither away.”
From Ann MacDonell,
Another version told by Bishop Martin to Anne Kennedy
A voice was heard saying this to the Keppoch people:
“Mas ann a Lochabar a tha sibh
Traigh suibh mar an gaillionn
Falbhaidh Sliochd nam mollachd agus thig sliochd ur nur h-aite.”
“If you are in Lochaber, You will scatter like the storm-wind; The accursed people will depart, and a new people will take your place.”
A further variation ends “Falbhaidh muinntir an àite agus thig sliochd na mollachd nan àite”
“The people of the place will leave and they will be replaced by the accursed people.”
